Our team at Oconee Landscape Design has extensive experience in the landscaping business, and we have worked with countless clients to add swimming pools to their properties. In our experience, many people would love having an inground pool in their yard but hesitate to add one because they worry about what the construction process will be like. In this article, we will provide a brief overview of what to expect from the inground pool construction process so you can make a more informed decision on the matter.

What to Expect from the Inground Pool Construction Process

  • Excavation – The first step in inground pool construction is to excavate the area where the pool will be installed. Our team will dig to create the hollow where the pool will go.
  • Compaction and Reinforcement – After we have excavated the area, our team will compact down the earth on the bottom and sides of the pool to give it more strength and stability. If necessary, we will also add reinforcements to help the pool keep its shape.
  • Concrete Application – The next step in inground pool construction is to apply concrete to the bottom and sides of the excavated area to create the floor and walls of the pool. Our team has extensive experience in this process, and you can count on us to deliver outstanding results.
  • Electronics Installation – After the concrete structure has cured, our team will install the wiring and mechanisms for the pool filter, pump, lighting, etc.
  • Concrete Finishing – Our team will then apply sealants and other finishes, such as plaster, to the pool concrete to make it more waterproof and adjust its appearance. This is also the point where we will install any decorative tile or other touches you may want to include.
  • Filling – Once all the construction steps are complete, our team will fill the pool with water so you can start swimming.
